New Exploration Rock Art and Ash -Mound Site

It is located 43 kilometers towards West from district head quarters Ballari. 27 kilometers from Kampli is the Nearest town to Metri road connectivity is there from Kampli to Metri Nearest Railway Station is the Ballari.

✡️Site Location : -

Towards the western side as the village at a distance of 1.5 kilometers a small hill. This hill which is locally known as Karekallu Gudda (hill) containing a good number of Petroglyphs of rock art with number of Animals figures, Human figures, and another Geometrical figures on the boulders of the hill around the hill besides this Ash - Mound keeping in view of findings that this area was once inhabited by the pre - historic man right from the Messolithic to Neolithic period. Ash - Mound site is highly disturbed by the local people huge ash lumps are scattered in this area. During our survey you have collected good number of poetry pieces and stone implements etc.

BUDDIST ROCK - CUT CAVES AND STUPAS SITE IN KORUKONDA

This Buddhist Rock - Cut Caves and Stupas Site is locally Called as Pandavula Metta or Pandavula Konda near Koru Konda a small historical village in East Godavari district of Andrapradesh and 25 kilometers from Rajamahendravaram City Corporation.Koru Konda is also a well known historical place and noted for a vaishanavite temple Sree Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple exiting on a small hillock and it was built by the Reddy Kings of 14th CAD. The present Buddhist site is existing on a small granite formed as laterite stone hillock. This site was explored, excavated, conserved, pestored, preserved and declared as it's protected Monument as the Ancient Historical and Archaeological Monuments and Sites Remains Act -1960 and is being maintained by the Department of Archaeology and Museums Government of Andrapradesh. A flight of steps carved in those days lead to the a series of Rock -Cut Caves consists of Five Rock - Cut Caves in a row miselead by the local people as these Caves are supposed to be built by the Pandavas  and nemed as Pandava Metta. These Rock - Cut Caves are seems to be an attempt as the Buddhist Monks as their a bode with entrances wide open. However these Rock - Cut Caves are provided some of the Caves walls are decorated with small KUDU (Horse shape symbol)  an aspicious design is engraved. A provision as post - holes at the entrance on either sides provides the curtaion system for the Monks peaceful privacy. The caves are facing to the Southern direction and to the corner of the caves a huge Rock - Cute water cistern provides the needs of the Monks.A gain the contination of flight of steps leads to the Mahastupas, Votive Stupas, Congregation Hall with system all built by the well burnt bricks, Apsedal Stupa Chaithyas etc, reveals the every visitor the past glory as Buddhism in this area. the Buddhist Rock -Cut Caves system is prevailed in entire coastal belt of Andrapradesh .Generally the Mahastupas are meant for general worship of the Monks and wherever Apsedal Stupa Chaithyas are ment for worship of nobal personalities and the Votive Stupas are offerings. MYSTIC STONE CIRCLES IN THAGARAKUNTA (MEGALITHIC SITE)

MISTICE SEVEN ROWS EN-CIRCELD PLACE  WHETHER MEGALITHIC BURIAL? OR WORSHIP PLACE ?. Please Comment. During my visit to Anantapuram distcitic, I happened to visit the village Thagarakunta near Dharmavarma in Anantapuram distcitic. Towords the north -eastern  corner of the Thagarakunta village, at a distance of 500 meters at a place, locally called as Edusuthula Kota or Padmavuhama,  where a peculiar place en - circled by stone circles with a gap of totally  seven circles covering 60 feet dia measurement .On enquiry ,it came to know that ,this place is considered as a holy worship place to the local people and there is a strong belief and sentiment to the local people , that this place cures Any sort of diseases  by sitting and praying the center of the circles in meditation .After getting cure, they keep one stone here  as a customary tradition .this type of tradition is going seens generations and still it continued.
However on may ken Observation I feel it maybe a Prehistoric burial and scubsquently become as worship place with there Sentiment and believes. This type of seven rows stone - circles came to the notice in the same pattern existing near Krishangiri in Thamilanadu state. Further the same type of en - circled by seven rows of stone circles is existing at Scotland yard in Great Britain also. This type of peculiar formation en - circled by seven rows of stone circles is peculiar features this maybe examined and comment by the experts.

Gulapalyam Rock Art

1⃣Location : - Gulapalyam village. Vajrakarur Mandalam. Uravakonda Taluka.Anantapuram District. Andrapradesh State. Pin code no : - 515842.
2⃣Approach : - It is located on 74 kilometers towards North West side direction from the district head quarters Anantapuram. the taluka head quarters distance from the 34 kilometers nearest Railway Station from the Guntakal.
3⃣Topography : - Gulapalyam village is 8 kilometers South - West of Guntakal Railway Station this village surrounded by hills which run is north - south  direction, upto a distance of 1 kilometers and between Konakondla at Gulapalyam village.
4⃣Subject : - I observed prehistoric rock art fundamentale this rock art belong to you Neolithic period to Megalithic period. This Rock Art containing Human with weapon figures, Animals, Birds, tiger, and Deer ,figures etc.
This is rock art mainly located on Palli Konda north west side part of the hill. locally known as Palli Konda or Lulu swami Konda .
Another important Archaeological evednce is their this village number of Megalithic burial in this village. locally known as Kavali Gatllu .The present site is situated about 2.5 kilometers east of village. Because of accumulation of mud and stone pebbles here, the local people called it Godaiechenu (field of walls). to estimate the Archaeological wealth of the site, a trial trench was laid in the south - east which yielded shreds of black painted red ware (BRW), orange pointed ware, red polished ware, post holes of a hutment, crucibies, steatite bangle piece, steatitedisc beads, iron slag, conch shell belonging to the megalithic period.
